I've got unstuck in a palpable way.  From where I started to where I ended was a 180° change. I started fully engrossed and enveloped in my trauma. I’ve come through now having a viable plan and process to grow past the state I was in. CRM gave me a path. And permission to walk that path. CRM is a roadmap from wherever you are to someplace else you can be. Don’t put pressure on yourself to determine what that is. But give yourself permission to travel the road.  You don’t have to do it perfectly. All you have to do is give yourself permission to start.  -- E.A, workplace bullying target

The Community Resiliency Model from

The hallmark of workplace bullying is how incredibility traumatic it is. Bruises and bones heal. The "rape of your character and identity" that bullying feels like can take months, or years, to heal.

When you understand how trauma works in the brain and in body, you empower yourself to speed your healing and recovery. Breakthroughs in trauma research and recovery have shown that simple body based practices can be profoundly helpful and restorative.

Whether or not you are still in your bullying situation, the Community Resiliency Model (CRM) - an evidence-informed approach from the Trauma Resource Institute - offers a path to end the suffering that is gentle, effective, accessible and empowering.
I learned a lot of things about trauma – and love the insights I got. Never thought of being a pleaser as a survival response to trauma. But now I get it. I like the Help Now! practices – they’re  immediate and action oriented.  -- S.J. Food entrepreneur and business owner

Note!

This is NOT trauma processing and is NOT a substitute for therapy.
It is psychoeducation program that combines teaching about trauma with gentle practices to calm one's nervous system.
It is definitely getting easier. I am proof that the tools being given and practiced, even if not in exactly the way they were presented, work and are helpful whenever they are done! Sue’s voice helps me a lot and grounds me just as soon as I hear it.
--C.G., after losing entire home to fire

Trauma is a big word and a much misunderstood one. It can also feel a little scary to be even talking about trauma.

But what we have found over the decades is that when people come to understand what trauma is, and how it affects us, it is profoundly empowering. People start to see that whatever they are experiencing are just common, normal, human responses to circumstances that feel overwhelming.

We keep things light and in lay terms. This not trauma-processing. We do not ask you to revisit any trauma you might have experienced. Rather we give you the knowledge to understand what’s happening to your body, and the skills to help sooth and calm yourself when you need to.

A gentle 2-week program

How it works

Why this structure?

  • Watch a 5-10 minute teaching video in the morning
  • At 3 hour intervals throughout the day, follow a 2-5 minute guided practice
  • At the end of the day, reflect on your learnings and practice
  • Daily chat group support
  • Weekly live Q&A & coaching
  • Recommended: be paired for a buddy for additional community and support
The more we take short pauses throughout the day to calm and settle ourselves, the greater our capacity to deal with the stressors and challenges of the day. The less depleted we feel at the end of the day. And the more restfully we sleep at night.
Sue’s soothing voice and the words being spoken even for just the 5 min or so help to bring me back and feel grounded. -- T.B., Prevention Educator

I've spent so much time deliberately trying to fight sensations and try to move into a space of calm or relaxation. It was surprising – and beneficial – experiencing that what I needed to do was acknowledge them and observe them. And that that released the stress. This was counterintuitive, and surprising to me…and yet it worked! --K.S., dealing with cancer
I have always tended to push things aside and not deal with them, so starting to deal with them and notice how my body is feeling has been a challenge. I've discovered I can feel stress in my body...and that doing is what lets it go. -- A.M., Addiction and recovery professional

Will I be fully recovered in 2-weeks?

Everyone's journey to recovery is different. And everyone who does this program is at a different stage of their journey.  However, wherever you are in your recovery journey, this program offers something profoundly practical, gentle and effective. If you engage with it fully, it will ease your suffering. Your own specific progress depends on your unique factors, however.
CRM was valuable to me. It was very refreshing to be "invited" to do something rather than having to do it. This had a huge impact on me.  --S.H. Assistant Professor
